The filing comes first
Louisiana OMV holds the SR-22 requirement for 3 years and suspends on any SR-26 cancellation.

- Proof of SR-22 financial responsibility filed by your insurer
- Payment of all reinstatement and application fees
- Completion of any court-ordered alcohol or drug education program
- Ignition interlock for any DUI with a BAC of 0.15 or higher, or a second offense
- Substance abuse and driver improvement program completion
